As some of you know, I’ve been recording new music each week for my mailing list, called Deep In Song. It’s a lot of fun. My friends Deric Garza produces and engineers the tracks, and my other friend Chris Compton does percussion and other stuff. The project is designed to A) help me put out new songs and new recordings for my fans and potential fans, and B) give me and my partners more experience in the record-making process. We’re only 2 months in to this thing and we’re learning a lot. I also think folks have been enjoying the immediacy of the recordings, which are generally made on Monday nights and heard on Tuesday afternoons.
In the spirit of Christmas, I’ve decided that I’d like to share the last 2 weeks’ Deep In Song installments. One is a song of my own that I wrote for Merry Folking Christmas, an annual extravaganza of songs and cheer produced by our pal Stephanie Briggs, the other is my own rendition of a traditional Advent hymn. Please enjoy and have a Merry Christmas.
P.S. If you’re not on my mailing list, please e-mail me and I’d be happy to sign you up.
